{ Hints & Tips..! }

Over the past couple of months a few Crafters has asked me on some of my techniques I use when I make my cards.....so I thought I make a wee list...So here we go...hope you likey..lol..

My fave card ~ Rymans 200mcg Bright White Coated Card...I use this for all my stamping and Printing papers...

Colouring Cheeks ~ I always use Promarkers and Chalks. The base is Almond...then some shading with Satin, Blush and a tad of Sunkissed pink....then I blend in with the Blush and finished going over the whole project again with the Almond promarker. When it's all nice a dry I use a deep pink chalk and gently colour the cheeks....I always use a scrap piece of card to remove some of the chalk before applying...then a soft paint brush to remove any of the access chalk..A cotton bud is perfect for this technique..!

Layering ~ I always use a  wet glue when I am layering my card...my fave is Pinflair photo glue. I use this because I can line up better....given myself more time to get my lines straight and it dries nice a quickly..and if a little glue ends up on my card I can rub it off without leaving any marks....! I also love 3d foam pads. I normally use these when I mounting my project onto my BASE card.. I use a little Pinflair Gel this time on the pads so they slide into place better...and no more wonky cards..hehehe. I use double sided tape on the dp's themselves before mounting on the coloured card...I just love the look it gives the dp's..it gives the dp's more definition...and I am rubbish at inking edges...lol.. You can buy the Pinflair from Joanna Sheen...

Colour matching ~ I aways pick my paper first BEFORE I colour my image. Nothing worse in colouring your gorgeous image and the paper doesn't match...we have all done that...lol.. I use a scrap piece of card to test the colour first...and I always look at my Promarker colour chart to see what shade matches the colour I am going to use..and test the blending....!

Photo's ~ I always use a photo tent in my conservatory. The light is pretty good out there and I use a photo programme called PhotoScape v3.5 ~ you can down load it free from google and it's FANTASTIC...very easy to use and you can simply watermark you images too. I am a complete muppet with computers and this is so simples to use...you must give it ago..lol...and you can easily crop your images and play with the colours
too..the link is here...

Card Blanks ~ I always get my blanks from Craftwork Cards...and if you look under back to basics you will find them there....and here is the link..and BLW the size card I use is 6" square...

I will be adding more to my wee list....So if there is anything you would like to ask...please send me an e-mail..and fingers crossed I will be able to help..!

  7. Thanks for the tips! I have one question - how do you get your edges all so straight and perfect? You have some very narrow borders around your dp so any imperfections would show. Do you use a trimmer or do you use a tool like Perfect Layers?
